Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to a brand new school year at The New Standard Academy! We are absolutely thrilled to begin this exciting journey with you and cannot wait to see all the incredible growth, learning, and achievement that this year will bring. With each new school year comes a world of possibilities and we are ready to embrace them together.
This year promises to be especially remarkable. We are proud to announce the grand opening of our brand-new STEM lab! This learning environment will provide students with unlimited access to hands-on engineering experiences, fostering curiosity, problem-solving skills, and innovation. We believe that STEM education is not only the future, but a critical part of shaping well-rounded, prepared students who can thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
At The New Standard Academy, we hold high expectations for every learner and attendance plays a huge role in that. Simply put, students can’t learn if they aren’t here. Good attendance is essential to academic success, while poor attendance, even a few days missed, can have a significant, negative impact on a student’s educational growth. We need your partnership to make sure students are in class, on time, every single day, ready to learn and grow.
We also want to remind you that homework is an important part of the learning process. It reinforces classroom instruction and builds discipline and responsibility. We expect all assigned homework to be completed and returned on time. Consistent completion of homework helps students master key concepts and prepares them for the next steps in their academic journey.
This is urgent work. Every day matters. Every lesson matters. Every student matters. Together, we must be serious and intentional about giving our children the best education possible. They deserve it and their futures depend on it.
We are excited, motivated, and honored to begin this school year with you. Let’s make it the best one yet!
With enthusiasm and purpose,
Correy Black, MPH, ES - Principal
